At a glance
The Fisher-Price newborn to toddler portable rocker does what it says on the tin. It provides a rocker and seat for your newborn that is sturdy enough to act as a chair when your baby grows into a toddler.
Unlike its older predecessor the new rocker is much more streamlined, looks more solid and on the whole looks a lot more child friendly.
The rocker has a removable toy bar with two hanging toys. As your child grows you can remove the toy bar for them to comfortably use the rocker as the toddler chair.
A great vibration function is included which is invaluable for getting your baby off to sleep. The vibrate function has an auto shutoff after 30 minutes.
If you wish to change the rocker to a fixed seat you just use the kick stands in the support legs to stabilise the rocker. The seat can be adjusted to three different positions to make your baby comfortable for feeding or playing.
The whole seat nicely folds down flat which is great for storage or transport. Ideal when you want to take the rocker to visit the grandparents.
The seat pad itself is well cushioned and appears to provide baby with a fairly comfortable place to sit.
The rocker has a standard three point harness to keep your baby safe and secure which is the quality you would expect from a Fisher-Price product.
As usual with Fisher-Price the rocker has a removable fully washable seat pad and the rest of the plastic frame is wipe clean. Cleaning couldn’t be simpler.
Ease of Assembly
Whilst not difficult the rocker does require some assembly. The instructions are fairly easy to follow and you will need a Phillips head screwdriver. The vibration function needs 2 C type batteries.
Age Range and Usage
The Fisher-Price newborn to toddler portable rocker can be used from birth up to a maximum weight of 18 kg or 40 lbs. The 18 kg weight limit could cater for a toddler up to about 5 years old but we have assumed a maximum usage of 36 months for the purpose of our comparison. Obviously you may get greater usage of the rocker. Assuming you buy for a newborn baby getting 36 months usage out of this rocker is way above the average usage in months compared to other rockers on the market. See Baby rockers Comparison Table.
Value for Money
In looking at value for money, consider the price you are paying against length of usage of the rocker.
At the time of writing the cost of this rocker is £56 putting it in the middle of the price range (£££ on the comparison table) which is between £40 and £80’s. As indicated on the age range you should get at least 36 months usage out of the product and so, simply put, a cost of £56.00 for 36 months gives you a super low usage cost per month of £1.56.
If you consider the quality, comfort of the seat, play features and its extra long usage life this bouncer provides excellent value for money.
- Removable toy bar
- Folds up for travel and storage
- Doubles as a toddler chair

All in all, the Fisher-Price newborn to toddler portable rocker is a quality well made product. With its extra long life by its very design you get a lot of value for money buying this rocker. Whilst it doesn’t score highly for style, its solid functionality and extra long life make this a great value for money buy for a multi-purpose rocker.
